"As the waves roll in at the ocean beach, a crow and a seagull seem to be at a stand-off, each one waiting for the other to be the first to fly off into the summer breeze."

Artist Comments: "Frequently a crow and a seagull may be seen together in close association. Perhaps it is that mean denominator of a reliable food source. It may be a curiosity of one toward the other. This pair seems to be eyeing each other nonchalantly as if to discern the motivation of the other. If there is an opportunity to spy a morsel, one doesn't want to give the other any chance to grab it. This scene seems to convey a moment of indecision after which each will go its separate way, to fly off to secure a morsel exposed by the tidal wash."
